How it started

So let me explain a little about myself and what we are hoping to do in the following months/years.

My name is Will, I'm 29 years of age at the time of writing this, I am 5 feet 8 inches tall & a size 8 shoe! I'm a kid of the 80's who finished school in the year 2000 expecting to see the end of the world or some epic catastrophe.

In 1999 I remember running my pc up to the year 2000 to see if it would break, to no avail, it just clicked over and carried on working. So what was all the hype about? Who knows right...

Anyway... As a child I grew up in an area known as Thanet. Broadstairs, St Peters & Ramsgate, always changing houses within the area every few years due to mum being bored with the feel of the house & place that we were living.

I got used to this and by the age of 18 obviously moved out.
I ended up working in the Casino Industry for 5 years. One of them jobs you'd mention to people when asked what your job was and always get the 'huh' look of "I have no idea what you do". I was a Croupier (senior dealer) in a Casino, dealing Poker, Blackjack & Roulette, all very glamorous I hear you think, it all sounds like fun but is actually a pretty unsatisfying job role. In the first part your getting paid to play games & have a laugh with people, which is great fun don't get me wrong, but the thing that is not most apparent is that the people there are all addicted to gambling and needed some help to channel that want & need they have.

So after 5 years of perfecting the art of a Croupier & working 10 hour night shifts, 4 nights a week (Thu, Fri, Sat & Sun) I decided that, that was enough and its time to move on.

I then spent a year going between 3 jobs until helping a friend save his Pa hire company for a few years.

All the mean time moving from different place to different place.
I left one home in Canterbury only a couple years ago & had a real break down. Full on tears for a full half hour. I didn't want to leave that place, It felt right for the first time...

I have probably moved every 1-3 years. I've lived with friends & girl friends in multiple houses/flats and had a lot of remember-al times with some people I will never forget.

The plan started around the age of 23-24 when I had been living with some friends, the idea was to live off grid & be self sustainable. Grow your own food, live like back in the old times, but with the added extra of using the technology that we have at our finger tips today.

So to this present day... I have now been given the chance to be able to go travelling with the thought in mind of acquiring land & building a self sustainable ecological property that will run off grid & benefit the individuals living within.

With only a small budget in mind. We're not talking millions or even hundreds of thousands... But enough to be able to create a comfortable place to live & for friends & family to stay.

I hope to meet a lot of friendly and fun loving people along the way and hope that perhaps I can inspire some of you to do the same thing and make a Realized plan into Actualization.

It all starts with knowing what you want & putting in the mental time of working out who you are.
We are 3, a left and right hemisphere & heart.
You just have to listen to what is going on inside of you to truly know what to be doing & it will happen for you if you truly believe it.

The 'Rich Life' is not just for the rich & poweful, its all a state of mind & perception.

What we are embarking on is all open to change & interpretation as to what will happen. We all have choices to choose & decisions to make at every step of the way of our lives, its just what you do with them choices that makes your life the saga that will be remembered or not.

The Blog Begins

Hello Friends, Family & People of the World,

Without further ado here is the beginning of what will hopefully become a pretty epic blog about a Mother & Son going on an Adventure.

As Westernised born & raised children we are more inclined to run away from our parents than want to spend time with them.

There seems to be this void of movement and independence that is pushed on us from a young age. We go to school leave and then that is really the beginning of life for most of us. Some go to College/University to continue what they love & some do it as they have no idea what they're here to do.

I can tell you that for 29 Years of my life I have had no idea what I wanted to do. I left college at 17 with a City & Guilds 1&2 in IT then started my working life...
I have so far worked as an Admin assistant for Personnel Department, Retail Sales assistant, Croupier (Senior Dealer in a Casino), Sales assistant in a Jewellers, Data cable installation engineer, B2B Telesales Executive, Live Pa Sound Engineer (Universal Sound Systems), Media Director (Fusion Media Centre, Canterbury, Aquarius7A), a DJ & Web monkey for Phat Pilgrim Records.

It has taken me until this point to have the opportunities to learn & realize what is going on to be able to get the chance to do something I really wanted to do & get given the opportunity to be able to do it from someone that I hold truly dear to my heart.

This blog will be an update of what we get upto and some lessons in life for both of us realized.

I assure you that you will always have a bond with your Mum. I am gracious to be able to spend this time with her and have a proper adventure.

We have had our ups & downs as a lot of kids & parents do.
It has taken a lot of Love & Hate to get to what we have now & I can only tell you that it is Amazing.

In 22 days we leave on an adventure. We have acquired a Van and a Caravan in the space of 2 weeks of Mum being home from staying with my sister in California.
Everything is going very well. We have both been a bit up & down due to excitement & apprehension of what will happen over the next few days/months/years...

I hope to be able to take you along with us on our journey and hope that you get to see some of the things we get up to & learn along the way.
